Game 11: Twins lineup at Rays
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — Twins center fielder Denard Span is staying back today to take some swings in the cage and see a chiropractor after missing yesterday’s game with neck stiffness.
Span said the neck injury is not related to the concussion-like symptoms that plagued him last season. He said he tweaked his neck during warm-ups before Saturday’s game, and he started feeling it later that game.
He added that he hopes to be back in the lineup tomorrow when the Twins host the Blue Jays at Hammond Stadium. In the meantime, Ben Revere is starting at center field in Span’s place and leading off today.
I’ll have more in today’s notebook so stay tuned.
