Game 29: Span sits out for first time this season
MINNEAPOLIS — Denard Span is out of the starting lineup for the first time this season after colliding with the center-field fence in last night’s game.
Span said he didn’t ask for the day off but was a little bit shaken up after running into the wall. So it’s more for precautionary reasons, as he’s expected to return to the lineup tomorrow.
Erik Komatsu gets the start at center field in his place and is batting leadoff against Angels right-hander Dan Haren.
Left fielder Josh Willingham is also back in the lineup after missing last night’s game with a skin infection.
